Ben Franklin Technology Partners    |    BioAdvance    |    Science Center

OTT works closely with the regional economic development agencies, such as Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern Pennsylvania (BFTP/SEP), BioAdvance, and Science Center.  These organizations support early stage life sciences technologies and start-up companies in the Philadelphia area with capital, real estate, and other business and management resources.  In addition, the agencies provide development funding for university technologies to further position the technologies for commercialization.

Funding from BioAdvance and BFTP/SEP was instrumental in launching the TJU faculty start-up Spliceomix, Inc. in 2003, which, through a series of acquisitions by larger companies, sub-licensed the TJU technology to Pfizer, Inc. in 2008 in a $450 million deal.  Please click here to read the success story.
