Post-Residency Employment List (2002 - 2011)
Trust. Great training. Respect. Camaraderie. Lifelong friendships. Academic stimulation. These are just some of the words that Jefferson’s surgical residents use to describe their Residency Program experience. This does not surprise Donna Guinto, coordinator of the 51-resident program. “Our residents spend a lot of time together—working long hours, learning and mastering complex procedures, helping each other through difficult personal or professional experiences,” she says.
She observes that there is a bond—a level of commitment and caring that stays with the residents, whether they remain at Jefferson or move on to accept fellowships at other institutions or seek opportunities in private practice. “In many ways our training program is training for life,” says Guinto.
