One Year Plus
Master of Public Health
Jefferson's One Year Plus MPH program is designed for students who wish to pursue full-time study or who plan to enter another graduate program, such as medical school, in the following year.
All coursework and the Clerkship – 14 courses or 41 credits – is completed over three 14-week terms that begin in September and end by mid-July (a total of 10 1/2 months). Students take five courses in the fall and spring terms and three courses (including the capstone seminar) and the Clerkship in the summer term (see table). They also begin development of their capstone project (an additional 4 credits) during the summer term, but complete and present it sometime in the subsequent year.
The One Year Plus MPH program also accommodates students who wish to earn dual degrees (MD/MPH, JD/MPH) by allowing them to complete all MPH coursework prior to their last year of medical or law school. Students who qualify for the dual degree option are eligible to transfer up to nine credits into the MPH program, thereby reducing the total number of credits required for the MPH degree to 36.

Admissions Requirements & Considerations
- Online application and payment of application fee
- Official transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate institutions attended
- CV or resume
- Competitive score on GRE (or equivalent) or completion of at least 9 credits of medical school
- TOEFL scores, if applicable
- Personal statement
- Two letters of recommendation
- Information concerning paid or volunteer experience in a public or community setting
- Interview
