Who Should Attend:
This program is designed for the nurse-midwife, nurse practitioner, physician assistant or other medical professional who has limited or no formal training in diagnostic ultrasound and wishes to learn the basic concepts of limited ultrasound applications in Obstetrics.

Program Description:

  • Basic Obstetrical Measurements
  • Normal Pelvic Ultrasound Anatomy
  • Basic Fetal Anatomy
  • Transabdominal Scanning Techniques
  • Guidelines for Limited Obstetric Ultrasound
  • Transvaginal Pelvic Scanning Techniques
  • Basics of Fetal Biophysical Profile
  • Introduction to Ultrasound Evaluation of the Cervix
  • Amniotic Fluid Assessment
  • Demonstration of Pelvic Ultrasound Scanning
  • Demonstration of Limited Obstetrical Ultrasound Imaging

     

     
  • Self-Assessment and Case Review

    Typical Schedule:
    A typical class day runs from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.   

    Optional Hands-on Session (Only Available for Philadelphia Courses):
    An optional instructional hands-on scanning session is held on Saturday morning from 9:00 AM to approximately noon.  During the session participants perform transabdominal and transvaginal pelvic scanning on non-pregnant models, and transabdominal limited OB scanning on third-trimester pregnant models.

    CME Credits and Tuition:
    This program is approved for 11.75 ACNM Specialty Credit and 16 hours of AMA Category I credit.

    Didactic Session: $950
    Optional Hands-on Practicum: $300
