The Acute Care Surgery faculty members are assisted by a superb team of nurses, administrative assistants, coordinators and specialists. The support staff manages the academic program, clinical practice and research projects.

Doris Warner

Doris Warner RN, MSN, CEN, CNS, EMT-P
Trauma Program Coordinator
Doris received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Nursing at Gwynedd-Mercy College and began her career as a nurse in the emergency departments of Sacred Heart Hospital, The Hospital of the Medical College of Pennsylvania, and Temple Children’s Hospital. Doris came to Jefferson in 2000 as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in the Emergency Department and in 2004 was appointed the Trauma Program Coordinator.

In her role as Program Coordinator, Doris oversees almost every aspect of the Trauma Program including performance improvement, the Trauma Registry, education/outreach, physician issues, and relations/communications with the Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation. Her work is essential in preparing the Trauma Program survey documents which are essential to a successful Trauma Foundation site survey. Our last survey in April of 2008 was very successful with no issues being identified by the Trauma Foundation.

Joanne Cram

Joanne Cram
Practice Specialist
Joanne has been with the Acute Care Surgery Division since 1998 and received her education at the Community College of Philadelphia. Prior to coming to Jefferson, Joanne was the Administrative Coordinator for the Department of Neurosurgery at The Medical College of Pennsylvania/Allegheny University Hospital. She has an incredibly wide range of responsibilities including the daily operation of our surgical practice, schedule coordination, outpatient appointments, pre-certification, scheduling tests, checking test results, office correspondence, and organizing conferences. Joanne also runs the office hours for the practice scheduling surgery and makes sure our patients have the proper follow up.

Mary A. Genzano

Mary A. Genzano
Administrative Assistant
Mary joined the Trauma Program at Jefferson in April 2004 in the capacity of Administrative Assistant.  She administratively supports the Trauma Program and its administrative staff as well as the Medical Director and six trauma surgeons. Additionally, she has recently become an Advance Trauma Life Support (ATLS) Coordinator.  In both June and July, the Trauma Program offers ATLS courses to all incoming surgical, anesthesia, ENT, OB/GYN, orthopedic and neurosurgical interns.  Mary is extensively involved in the preparation of the application for trauma accreditation as well as preparing for the actual trauma site survey conducted by the Pennsylvania Trauma System Foundation.

Prior to joining the Trauma Program at Jefferson, Mary held the position of Administrative Assistant for 13 years in the Health Information Management Department at Graduate Hospital here in Philadelphia.

Catherine Gill-Preston

Catherine Gill-Preston MSN, RN, ACNP
Nurse Practitioner
Catherine joined the Trauma Program in 2008 as a nurse practitioner. Cathy received her Master of Science degree in nursing from the University of Pennsylvania. Cathy has extensive experience both as a nurse in the critical care arena as well as a nurse practitioner. Most recently Cathy worked as a nurse practitioner for the Department of Neurosurgery at Jefferson. Cathy also has research experience having been involved in clinical trials for patients suffering from acute stroke.

Cindy Parise

Cindy Parise RN, CPC, CEDC
Trauma Data & Research Coordinator
Cindy joined the trauma program in February 2011. She received her Associate of Science degree in nursing from Gloucester County College in New Jersey. She has 10 years experience as an RN working in the ED, med/surg and a long term vent unit. For the past 9 years, Cindy has worked as a certified professional coder for emergency department physicians throughout the United States. In 2009, she obtained specialty certification in ED coding. Cindy would like to become certified in trauma registry.

Megan Ridpath

Megan Ridpath, RHIT
Trauma Data and Research Specialist
Megan joined the Trauma Program in February 2011 as a Trauma Data and Research Specialist. She graduated with her Associates of Applied Science in Health Information Technology from Burlington County College in 2010 and became certified as a Registered Health Information Technician from American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). She also completed the Medical Coding Certificate program at BCC in 2011 and plans to become certified as a Clinical Coding Specialist. In the future she plans on obtaining her Trauma Registry certification, the CSTR, and is excited about her new role here at Jefferson.

Alannah Ryan

Alannah Ryan RN, CRNP
Nurse Practitioner
Alannah joined the Trauma Program in 2007. Alannah received her Master of Science in nursing from the University of Pennsylvania and has over 20 years experience as a nurse practitioner. Prior to joining the Trauma team Alannah was the nurse practitioner for the Department of Neurosurgery at Jefferson. Allanah also brings with her an extensive research experience in the field of neurosurgery.

Frank Sullivan

Frank Sullivan RN
Trauma Performance Improvement Coordinator
Frank joined Jefferson in late 2010 as the Trauma Performance Improvement Coordinator. Frank brings extensive trauma experience gained while working as a paramedic for several ground EMS unit programs and then working as an RN with the University MedEvac flight program and Level I Trauma Center at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia. Frank also worked for several years as the Emergency Preparedness Coordinator for The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center. Most recently Frank was the hospital safety officer with responsibilities for the emergency preparedness program at Paoli Hospital.

In addition to his Paramedic certification, Frank is also nationally certified as a Fire Fighter and Hazardous Materials Technician. Frank received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Widener University and has a Graduate Certificate in Emergency Preparedness in Public Health and is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health degree.

Sandra Timm

Sandra Timm, CSTR
Sandra Timm joined the Trauma Program in 2006 as a Trauma Registry Consultant. Ms. Timm has over 15 years experience working as a rauma registrar. She attended Coon Rapid Community College and Anoka Technical College in Minnesota and was the first trauma registrar in Minnesota to become certified by the American Trauma Society.

Patricia Williams

Patricia Williams, CPC
Trauma Data / Research Specialist
Patricia Williams joined the Trauma Program on April 21, 2008 and is working with our Trauma Registry. She has worked in healthcare information systems for the past 22 years. Ms. Williams obtained a Certificate in Medical Coding from Thomas Jefferson University in December 2006 and passed the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) credentialing exam in November 2007. She is credentialed as a CPC (Certified Professional Coder). She plans to obtain her Trauma Registry credentials as a Certified Specialist in Trauma Registry (CSTR).
