Advanced Trauma Life Support Course
The Advanced Trauma Life Support course (ATLS) is a 2 day course that is taught by the attending staff in the late spring and early summer. All of our surgeons are ATLS instructors and Dr. Cohen and Dr. Kaulback are ATLS course directors. The ATLS training provides the student with the basic knowledge that is essential to the initial care and diagnosis of the injured patient. The ATLS curriculum incorporates didactic lecturing, small group workshops, and hands on technical training on simulators. All residents rotating on the service are ATLS certified.
