Novalis 6MV BrainLab Microcollimator

At Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, physicians have the latest technologies to deliver external beam radiation therapy including radiosurgery and fractionated radiotherapy. Our resources include a dedicated Novalis BrainLab linear accelearator based radiosurgery unit with microcollimator with ExacTrac image guidance system including two infrared tracking cameras and two kV digital imaging systems for stereoscopic imaging and state of the art planning systems.  Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience is also equipped with a Gamma Knife radiosurgery unit with Automatic Positioning System. There are three BrainScan planning systems, one GammaPlan 5.x RTP, and an XKnife Radionics RTP used strictly for research. Brain tumors are also treated with radiation at the Bodine Center using 3D conformal planning or intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) on any of our four linear accelerators.  The Bodine Center treats brain tumors with this high level of positional accuracy including the use of micro-MLCs, conebeam imaging and robotic table positioning with 6 degrees of freedom.
