At Jefferson we pride ourselves on a strong interdisciplinary clinic staffed by Radiation Oncologists, Ear Nose and Throat surgeons and Medical Oncologists. The Department of Radiation Oncology at Thomas Jefferson University offers a wide variety of treatment options for patients with head and neck cancers. Our resources include state of the art technology such as on-board cone beam CT, adaptive replanning during treatment and deformable registration for treatment planning. Jefferson physicians have pioneered the development of IMRT and IGRT radiation therapy, aiming to maximize target doses while minimizing side effects. HDR brachytherapy is also utilized to treat some lesions in the head and neck region.
