At Jefferson we pride ourselves on strong interdisciplinary cooperation between radiation oncologists, gynecologic surgeons, and medical oncologists. Physicians have at their disposal conformal external beam radiotherapy, intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) as well as brachytherapy. Our resources include advanced technologies such as image guided radiation therapy (IGRT) with conebeam CT, high dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy, CT/MRI compatible applicators for 3D planning and composite dose calculation. Our department has a well established brachytherapy program with a variety of gynecologic techniques designed to provide optimal coverage to the target. The Nucletron V2 afterloader is housed in one of our linac vaults.
