Conference Schedule
The conference schedule is extensive and varied. Residents are expected to attend and actively participate. To this end, protected time is provided for the core lecture series. The core lecture series occurs on Thursday mornings from 8-10 a.m., immediately following Grand Rounds. Topics are based upon CREOG learning objectives and follow a two-year cycle so that each resident is exposed to two complete cycles during the course of the four year training experience.
Other scheduled conferences include:
- Intern lecture series (weekly; July-August each year)
- Morning report (Monday through Wednesday)
- Gynecology rounds (2-3 times weekly)
- Grand Rounds (weekly)
- Gynecologic Oncology Pathology Conference (weekly)
- Gynecology Quality Assurance (monthly)
- Obstetrics Quality Assurance (monthly)
- Maternal-Fetal Medicine Conference (weekly)
- Perinatal M & M (monthly)
- Preoperative Conference (weekly)
- Genetic Conference (monthly)
- Obstetrical/Gynecologic Ultrasound Conference (monthly)
All residents are invited guests of the department at the monthly meetings of the Philadelphia Obstetrical Society. In addition, Philadelphia with numerous medical schools and one school of osteopathic medicine, affords a continuum of courses and lectures readily available to residents.
