Leist- Morning report

Morning Report

This biweekly case conference is held for all residents. A rotating group of attendings lead a discussion focusing on advanced patient evaluation skills and advanced clinical reasoning skills.

Professor's Rounds with Dr. Michael Sperling

A weekly case conference led by a senior faculty member who selects an interesting case to present to the residents. He then illustrates advanced clinical reasoning and management skills.

Professor's Rounds with Dr. Elliot Mancall

A weekly case conference, led by a senior faculty member, who is presented a current ward or consult case by a junior resident. He leads a discussion about localization, differential diagnosis, pathophysiology, and treatment.

Journal Club

A monthly conference developed to emphasize the skills necessary to analyze and implement information conveyed in the medical journals. Critical articles are selected to illustrate core topics of evidence-based medicine. Faculty members assist residents in leading the discussion of the article and its contents.

Grand Rounds

The Department of Neurology maintains weekly Grand Rounds.  Its purpose is to advance the understanding of neurology and its potential integration into the clinical practice by:

Translating/transferring credible and relevant scientific findings and scholarly thought related to neurology into discussions that are compelling, and engages healthcare professionals involved in neurological practice, including neurologists, neurosurgeons, primary care physicians, other medical specialties, nurses, and other allied healthcare providers.

Provide additional opportunities for the advancement of clinical acumen and scientific principles through live patient encounters.

Morbidity & Mortality Conference

This quarterly conference focuses on actual patient cases that illustrate factors that contribute to failures in therapy and emphasizes continual quality improvement within the services at Jefferson.
