The Geriatrics rotation is designed for the senior resident in Internal Medicine. This rotation gives the resident a choice of one of three venues to achieve the curricular goals set forth for the rotation. Some residents opt to work in the Veterans Affairs Hospital with a multidisciplinary team that evaluates both inpatient and outpatient geriatric patients. Another option for this rotation focuses more on the care of the patient in a long-term care facility. Finally, a rotation in the community, with a mix of inpatient and outpatient experiences is also available.
