Residency

The Division of Rheumatology provides resources for educational, research and patient-care programs for the Department of Medicine. Educational programs are offered at undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate levels and include a fully ACGME accredited fellowship program.

During an elective in clinical rheumatology, the resident is exposed to the full spectrum of rheumatic, connective-tissue, metabolic and degenerative musculoskeletal disorders. The staff teaches residents bursa, tendon sheath and joint injection and aspiration techniques, as well as crystal identification in synovial fluid. In addition to the outpatient experience, resident responsibilities include inpatient consultations and attending rounds.
