Fellowships

The major educational foci of the Hematology Division are the Hematology/Oncology fellowship program and the second year Foundations of Clinical Medicine course.

The Division of Hematology co-directs the joint Hematology/Medical Oncology Fellowship program (for more information and how to apply see this page). We are extremely proud of our history of training outstanding Hematologists all over the world, and feel that we have a truly unique training program. There are only few Hematology training programs that include the breadth of training provided at Jefferson. Our program is uniquely comprehensive because the Hematology Division: 1) runs a Hemophilia/Thrombosis Center, 2) runs an adult Sickle Cell Center, 3) runs the Blood Bank/Transfusion Medicine Service for the Thomas Jefferson Hospital, and 4) runs the Special Coagulation Laboratory for the Hospital. Our fellows also have exposure to many different clinical faculty and a broad array of basic and clinical research opportunities.

Cardeza faculty also play major roles in MS, PhD, and MD/PhD student education. Most faculty hold either secondary appointments in basic science departments or membership in graduate groups.
