Transitional DPT Program
Licensed PTs can earn a transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree at Jefferson. Practicing PTs can enter a program designed to help therapists attain degree parity with therapists who hold the DPT degree.
In as few as 12 months, students who have a master's degree and at least 12 months of clinical experience as a licensed physical therapist can complete the program. Those with a baccalaureate degree or less clinical experience will take longer. Up to nine credits will be waived for master's degree students who have 12 months of documented clinical practice as a licensed physical therapist. (Bachelor's degree students can have up to 12 credits waived with 16 months of documented clinical practice as a licensed PT.)
This program has been designed for students who work full time. The curriculum is a hybrid design, which includes online coursework and on-site classes, usually one or two weekend days per course.
Good news for alumni: all graduates of JCHP's Department of Physical Therapy are eligible for the Jefferson College of Health Professions tuition discounting program: 25% off the graduate-level per-credit tuition.
