FACT - Facilitated Academic Coursework Track

The FACT - Facilitated Academic Coursework Track – option will enable a highly talented second-degree student to complete the nursing major, earn the BSN degree in ONE CALENDAR YEAR OF FULL-TIME STUDY, and progress directly to the graduate program on a full or part-time basis.

The FACT option is for highly talented students who already hold a bachelor’s degree in a field other than nursing. This special option builds on the baccalaureate degree and allows students to complete the BSN degree in one calendar year of intensive full-time study. Students may then proceed to the MSN phase of the curriculum on a full or part-time basis. Students who have a non-nurse baccalaureate degree may apply for admission to the FACT option. Students accepted into the FACT option are admitted to both the undergraduate and graduate programs.

The FACT option requires full-time study. Students will be scheduled for theory course content two days per week and clinical practica experience three days per week each of the four quarters. Quarters are 12 weeks in length. Three days of clinical practica are required during each semester to allow time for students to integrate theoretical concepts and constructs into clinical practice.

All policies in regard to academic achievement, progression in the nursing major and program completion for the prelicensure option apply to students in the FACT option.

An admission interview is required. To obtain additional information or assistance contact the Admissions Counselor in the Office of Admissions and Enrollment Management at 215-503-1041.

International Students: An evaluation of foreign transcripts by the World Education Service (WES) is required. All international students and U.S. permanent residents must demonstrate English language proficiency as one of the conditions for admission to Jefferson College of Health Professions. Please contact the Admissions Counselor in the Office of Admissions and Enrollment Management for a list of acceptable items to satisfy the proficiency requirement.
