The purpose of the Tri-State Nurse Anesthesia Program (TNAP) is to facilitate the education of master’s prepared certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. The TNAP project will focus on the National Goals for the Bureau of Health Professions and the national goals defined in Healthy People 2010: improving the health and well being of underserved and diverse populations, as well as educate and prepare nurses who are ethnically and culturally diverse. Additionally the TNAP will improve the overall healthcare access of underserved populations and families in the tri-state area (NJ, DE, & PA). Graduates of the TNAP project will be able to: manage patients through pre-anesthetic assessment, to development of perioperative care plans, to implementation of this plan of care, to evaluation of patients post-operatively and to collaborate with other anesthesia healthcare disciplines. Additionally, graduates will promote health and prevent disease among underserved populations in NJ, DE, and PA.; Graduates of the TNAP project will be eligible to sit for certification as Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists by the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists (CCNA).
