| The Center for Applied Research
on Aging and Health debuts new website
The Center for Applied Research on Aging and Health (CARAH) at Thomas
Jefferson University's Jefferson College of Health Professions is pleased
to announce the debut of its new website, www.jefferson.edu/jchp/carah.
CARAH focuses on developing innovative community and home-based health
and human services to enhance the quality of life for individuals with
chronic or disabling conditions. Much of the Center's work focuses on
the elderly and their caregivers.
The new website includes information about recent publications, presentations
and the Center's primary areas of research, such as dementia management,
physical frailty and care giving. Biographical and contact information
for CARAH staff is also available on the site.
The website also includes details about upcoming conferences and meetings,
including the sixth annual dementia management conference, sponsored
by CARAH, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and the Farber Institute for Neurosciences of Thomas Jefferson University on February 4, 2005. At this daylong interdisciplinary
professional development workshop, “Dementia Management: New Directions
in Providing Care to Patients and their Families,” a panel of nationally
recognized experts will provide an overview of research related to the
topic. The conference will be held in room 101 of Bluemle Life Sciences
Building, 233 South 10 th Street, Philadelphia, PA. For further information
visit the website or contact Sandy Schinfeld at 215-503-2124.
