"I congratulate our faculty on their achievement. This credential is achieved by passing a 200 question examination that covers multiple domains. This certification is an important credential for their careers and brings distinction to our School, the University, and their practice sites," said Rebecca Finley, PharmD, MS, dean, Jefferson School of Pharmacy.

The Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties (BPS) is an autonomous division of the American Pharmacists Association (APhA), founded in 1976 to recognize specialties and certify pharmacists in specialized areas of pharmacy practice. Six specialties are currently recognized by BPS, including nuclear pharmacy, nutrition support pharmacy, pharmacotherapy, psychiatric pharmacy and oncology pharmacy. More than 9,000 pharmacist specialists are currently certified by BPS.
