The Thomasina Award for Bravery in
Teaching
The Center for Faculty Development is pleased to announce
the establishment of the annual Thomasina
Award for Bravery in Teaching. The Award entitles the awardee to one year's
stewardship of Thomasina, a statuesque and staunch supporter
of innovation in the classroom, and a $150 gift certificate from
the store of one's choice.*
Thomasina's companionship will be awarded for one year
to the JCHP faculty member who best demonstrates bravery in the
classroom. To be considered for this Award, candidates must submit
the following:
Submissions will be judged on creativity, relevance and
gumption. The innovative idea does NOT have to be successful.
In fact, Thomasina welcomes and encourages submission of failed
attempts.
Submissions should be sent, non-electronically,
to Thomasina, c/o the Center for Faculty Development, 1610 Edison.
Deadline for submissions is Monday May 14, 2007.
The Thomasina Award will be presented at Faculty Development
Day. The winning idea will be shared with all faculty.
