Emergency Preparedness
Understanding the Plan is Important
EVACUATION PLANS
Rally Point: In the event of an emergency on campus that requires evacuation, students are advised to proceed to the rally point. The rally point is a plave where DHRL staff can gather residents together to supply them with information (or the next steps.)
Relocation Point: City or University officials may decide that residents need to temporarily relocate to an alternative location. In the event of a crisis that will prohibit reentry into the residence halls for a period of time, residents would be advised to proceed to a specific relocation site.
If our campus was severely impacted, city/TJU/TJUH officials may advise affiliates to proceed to a nearby city relocation point. The nearest relocation site for this region is Washington Square Park which is located at 9th and Walnut Streets.
Designated on campus sites:
Rally Site: Area for gathering until further information is provided or the building is safe to re-enter.
Martin: Lubert Plaza
Barringer: Bluemle Life Sciences Courtyard
Orlowitz: Lubert Plaza
Relocation Site: Area of refuge when the residence hall must be evacuated.
Martin Relocation Site: Jefferson Alumni Hall (JAH) Center Cafeteria
Barringer Relocation Site: Bluemle Life Sciences Lobby
Orlowitz Relocation Site: Jefferson Alumni Hall (JAH) Center Cafeteria
