Established in 2007, Jefferson InterProfessional Education Center (JCIPE) is dedicated to improving patient care through implementing and evaluating patient-centered, interprofessional education throughout the Thomas Jefferson University curriculum.

Human Performance Lab
Our new, state-of-the-art Human Performance Lab maintains an array of instrumentation for the study of gait and movement, energy expenditure and muscle function. As a PT student at Jefferson, you will come here as a regular part of your DPT coursework. Intrigued by what they can learn here, some students will assist faculty in research projects. Prior studies have included evaluation and efficacy of treatments for infants with brachial plexus birth palsy; analysis of gait for individuals with neurological deficits; and exploring strength and motion recovery following surgical repair for orthopedic injuries.

Opportunities to Travel Abroad
If you are in high academic standing, you may have the opportunity to participate in a unique four-week PT research experience in the Netherlands. This is an annual event Jefferson has developed with our partner the University Medical Center St. Radboud in Nijmegen. Financial support towards travel may be available.
