Who We Are

The Jefferson Digestive Disease Institute (JDDI) offers a full range of clinical services in gastroenterology and hepatology, including diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, motility and liver transplantation. The ambulatory care facilities at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital consists of a newly renovated suite which comprises the outpatient, administrative, and secretarial offices for the academic Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.

• Register now for the 2nd Annual Jefferson GI Live Endoscopy Course will take place Friday, November 18th, 2011. 
• Congratulations to Dr. Satish Rattan on the renewal of his NIH grant. 
• Our division welcomes the addition of 4 new faculty members - Jonathan Fenkel, MD; Aarati Malliah, MD; Nicholas Orfanidis, MD; and Sonali Sakaria, MD.
• Introducing the Jefferson Celiac Center - the first center solely dedicated to treating adult celiac disease in Philadelphia.

• Our division successfully hosted its 1st "Jefferson GI Live" course November 12, 2010.
• Six members of the GI Division were named 2010 "Top Docs" by Philadelphia Magazine.
• Our Liver Transplantation Program, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary, has produced a video describing the process of evaluation, listing and the transplant itself.
• Jefferson Gastroenterology welcomes our new fellows.

Our new endoscopy, motility and research suites are now open. This major addition to our division will provide state-of-the-art facilities to fulfil our clinical, educational and research missions
