The empower™ Initiative
Innovating EMR, Empowering Physicians, Improving Care
As a leading academic medical center, Jefferson continually pioneers new applications for technology to keep it delivering the highest level of care. Our mission: to create the ideal patient experience not only drives our advancement of medicine, but also our clinical transformation initiative, aptly named empower™. This initiative combines a well-planned infrastructure, effective practice operations, and specialty-specific, best-practice workflows with a modular phase-in of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) to create clinical-setting efficiencies that improve patient safety and quality of care.
The empower™ initiative is accelerating with more than 2000 physicians, staff and medical students already trained and routinely using the newest version of Allscripts® EMR customized for JUP. In addition, the EMR Team plans to train over 150 incoming faculty, residents and fellows.
Fueled by the robust, real-world learning labs of JUP’s aggressive Alpha and Beta testing, the rollout is well on track to achieve its much-anticipated defining moment when all JUP
departments are
“live” on EMR. More…
