Postdoctoral Affairs Office
Postdoctoral Association
In 2003, at the invitation of the Jefferson Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences (JGSBS), postdoctoral fellows established their own professional association at TJU – the Jefferson Postdoctoral Association (JPA). Around the same time, the JGSBS established the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (OPA) which is headed up by Lisa Kozlowski, PhD, the Assistant Dean for Postdoctoral Affairs and Recruitment. Dr. Kozlowski and the JPA work closely together to improve the training experience for postdocs at TJU by running regular events such as seminars, meetings, programs and social gatherings and by addressing institutional policy regarding postdoctoral fellows.
The JPA is a volunteer organization – if you would like to be involved in our activities in any way, small or large, please email us at the address below. If you are a postdoc that is not receiving regular emails from JPA@jefferson.edu, please notify us at the following address and we will add you to our mailing list.
Mission
The goals of the JPA are to provide a channel for communication, to promote understanding and intellectual stimulation, and to improve the position of postdoctoral fellows in training and extracurricular matters at Thomas Jefferson University (TJU). To accomplish these goals, the JPA hosts monthly meetings along with social hours, career seminars, technical skills seminars, and professional development workshops such as a fellowship application program.
